Your Data Stays on Your Phone

SpotprisX is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your electricity consumption data is personal, and it should stay that way.

This privacy policy explains how SpotprisX handles your data. The short version: we don't collect it.

Data We Collect

No personal data.

SpotprisX does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. Your electricity consumption data, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device.

We collect anonymous usage analytics (see below) to improve the app, but this data cannot be linked to you as an individual.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device:

  • Your electricity consumption data (fetched from Eloverblik)
  • Your address and grid company (DSO) information
  • Appliance run logs you create
  • App settings and preferences
  • Cached electricity price data

This data is stored in the app's local database on your phone. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted. We never have access to any of this information.

External Services

SpotprisX connects directly to the following external services to fetch data:

Eloverblik (Energinet)

To fetch your electricity consumption data. This connection is made directly from your device to Eloverblik's servers. We never see this data.

Energi Data Service

To fetch current electricity spot prices. This is public data and contains no personal information.

DAWA (Danish Address Web API)

To help you find your address. The address you enter is sent directly to DAWA's servers, not to us.

DataHub

To fetch tariff information for your grid company. This is public data about tariff rates.

All API calls are made directly from your device to these services. Our servers are not involved and we never see the data.

Anonymous Analytics

SpotprisX uses PostHog for anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This data is completely anonymized - we cannot identify individual users.

Analytics data is hosted in the EU and includes only aggregated usage patterns (e.g., which features are popular, common user flows). We do not track your electricity data, consumption patterns, or any personal information.

You can opt out of analytics entirely in the app settings under "Privacy". We use statistical sampling (only 10% of sessions are tracked) to minimize data collection while still gaining useful insights.

Advertising

SpotprisX does not display advertisements and does not share any data with advertising networks.

Children's Privacy

SpotprisX does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect your contact information, we cannot notify you directly - please check back occasionally.
